German Enameled Glass. The Edwin J. Beinecke Collection and Related Pieces. The Corning Museum of Glass Monographs. Volume II.

Dark blue soft cover with some fading. Some pages seem to have been exposed to steam, possibly liquid, as they are slightly warped, but not stained. 9" x 12". With a Foreword by Paul N. Perrot. From the Foreword, "The presentation by Mr. Edwin J. Beinecke in 1957 of his unparalleled collection of German Enameled Glass, with a comprehensive library devoted to the subject, was one of the most important events in the history of The Corning Museum of Glass. This monograph was started by Dr. Axel von Saldern when he was curator of the museum. He has found new information which sheds fresh light on the complex evolution of the subject between the sixteenth and the nineteenth centuries. He has given emphasis to the exchanges of influences which played so important a role in the evolution of forms, decorations and techniques. He has prepared an exemplary text, which will, no doubt, be an indispensable base for all future search on the subject."
