Overall condition, a copy that has been read, remains tight with no loose pages & is faded with age. "On the 19th June 1940, the British government declared the Channel Islands a demilitarized zone. In the event of a German invasion, no resistance would be offered. The men and women of the islands were faced with the choice of evacuation to England, or of remaining in their homes to await the Nazi occupation. Most of them chose to remain. And on 2nd July, Jersey was invaded by Airborne troops under the command of Haupfmann Gussek. L.P. Sinel of the Jersey Evening Post managed - under the very eyes of the German Secret Police - to keep this diary of the events of those years of occupation - the years of 1940 to 1945 .".
