First edition hardback, 1940, with no jacket. In overall good used condition with minor signs of age, handling and storage - red cloth boards faded to spine and upper edges. Internally clean. Binding tight and appears little read; no annotations or inscriptions - owners name to front pastedown dated 1952; toning and slight spotting to page-ends and prelims but text, black and white maps and two fold-out colour maps bright and clear throughout. Not an old library book.
