First UK edition from 1786 in two volumes (331pp and 337pp) with a 16 page preface by Agostino Isola. The title panels are missing from the spine and there is chipping at the top and bottom of the spine. There is some cracking along the edge next to the front panel and the front panel of the second volume is quite slack. The corners are bumped with some rubbing and there is light surface wear and staining to the front and rear panels. Browning to the page edges. The front free endpaper of volume I is loose. Name of a previous owner in ink to the front free endpaper with the name of another family member to the front pastedown. Some notes in pencil to the front free endpaper of the second volume. There is some browning to the endpapers and light browning to the pages but they are otherwise generally unmarked. Seller Inventory # 019719
