We are at a dead end: growth has become unsustainable, it no longer generates jobs as in the past, it concentrates wealth in the hands of a tiny oligarchy and it is destroying our planet. Capital-led globalization is indeed behind this overall disaster, which will end with us if we do not react on time.But to do that we must have a project: an alternative to the deadly course that our world has taken. We must reverse our priorities; no longer expect from growth the solution to all our problems. We should rather prioritize our basic needs, the recovery of the environment, social conviviality and economic self-reliance.To do so, we must deliver a new world, which requires combating the ruling ideology, reinventing democracy, governing wisely and building fair societies. Intellectuals and activists have a special responsibility in this respect.
