138 pages + double page chart and a 40 inch fold-out front elevation plate by Peter Fleetwood-Hesketh of a city street. Printed paper boards, pale blue cloth spine, paper label on the spine and a spare label inside rear cover, tipped in, errata leaf facing page 1 with the Nash to Smirks correction on pages 102/3 + the inclusion of "Mowbray" to poem at page 119 denoting the first issue. The boards are a little dusty and mildly faded mainly at edges in, cloth spine handled and a little dull, but all firm, no splits, slight wear to head of spine, minor. some very light spotting to prelims and last page. Inserted is a "Proof review" by Brian Housden that was in the "New Society" in 1977 when the reprint was issued, it has a few manuscript corrections. It says Betjeman used to have the worst table manners, slurping soup from a plate at a house in Dublin. Small octavo. 18 x 12.5 cm.
