First edition ( Letters F R in oval above publication date) book is in near fine condition, with a crease going down spine, and marks left by old tape to verso of jacket on ffp, and lfp otherwise clean and fine, priced Jacket ($2.50) is VG - with many tape repairs to recto and verso of jacket. The repairs are to the spine ends and corners, the rest of jacket is in VG condition. " Not a burlesque of a recent novel ( presumably Cakes and Ale by W. Somerset Maugham) but rather a shrewd, bitterly conceived and executed study of the creative mind struggling with life and art and the discontents of both".
