376 pages with woodcut engravings full page, half page and vignettes to each page throughout, with a crimson, ornate Victorian cloth binding probably by Leighton Bros, a little light wear to the spine where the gilt is a little rubbed, covers bright, clean and tight, canary yellow endpapers, no inscription. Small quarto. N.D. c1885-90. *The book is a dip-in collection of excerpts of 130 books with a sprinkling of popular 19th and earlier authors but other 19th century writers less well remembered, like Charles Reade, F. C. Burnand, Orpheus C. Kerr, George Augustus Sala, etc, etc, etc. A nice gift book especially in this condition. Seller Inventory # A797

We have been operating on and off since 1977 and our stock is varied, leaning towards antiquarian and 19th century with the addition of original aquatint and lithographic, or woodcut engravings. Also maps and Ephemera - in fact, anything interesting on paper really. We have in stock every item we list. We do not use stock photographs, but photograph each item individually. We very rarely use "fine" or "mint" as a description, mainly due to the age and the fact that 99.9% of what we sell has been pre-owned and therefor Fine would not be a term for a book we sell despite its fine-like appearance. We always take items back unreservedly if not in the condition as described. We always try to describe fully.
