Scribner's colophon and letter "A" to copyright page indicate the first printing. Still priced $3.50 to jacket front flap, which dubs the work "a novel of New York today." "Good" jacket is missing the top quarter-inch of its spine. Additionally, boards show some faded patches where they were once damp, and there have been related transfers of some of the red ink from the boards to verso of jacket, visible to recto only as a thin red line to jacket rear panel (below author photo.) The novel that launched the beat generation's literary legacy describes the (fictionalized) world of Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg and Neal Cassady. Published two months before Kerouac began "On The Road," "Go" offers a fictionalized chronicle of the Beats before they became public figures. Some drugs and alcohol appear to have been involved. 311 pp. Reduced from $305. Seller Inventory # 009539
