Going Home, Doris Lessing, Michael Joseph, 1957, First Edition, First Impression Written by the oldest person ever to receive the Nobel Prize for Literature (2007) and fifth on a list of "The 50 greatest British writers since 1945" compiled by the Times, this is the account of her first journey back to Africa, the land where she grew up and in which so much of her emotion and concern were still invested. The book has been beautifully illustrated throughout with line drawings by Paul Hogarth. This is a First Edition, First Impression in very good + condition. The binding is straight and tight, the blue cloth boards clean and the gilt lettering on the spine bright. The end papers and pages are free from marks, tears or inscriptions. The unclipped dust jacket, protected in a clear, removable cover, is in very good condition with a small loss and a small tear to the top edge of the front cover.
