The Gold Rush - Letters from the Wolverine Rangers to the Marshall, Michigan, Statesman 1849-1851

A near fine condition hardcover copy. Some light spotting to top text block edge. Very slightest indications of wear to edges, otherwise bright and clean inside and out. John Cumming was the longtime director of the Clarke Historical Library at Central Michigan University. This volume is one of a series of books by Cumming that were collections of historical writings on specific topics that he personally set into type and hand printed. Cumming would create 487 copies of each book. He personally bound early books in this series, but later enlisted the help of a local bindery. A wonderful copy from the hands of a truly dedicated historian and book person! All of our books are individually inspected and described. Never ex-lib unless explicitly described as such.
