Item description from seller

First edition, first impression. Some edge wear, chipping, creasing and short closed tears to top and bottom of jacket and spine, corners rubbed with small loss, some slight yellowing to back jacket and page block, faint spotting to page fore edges. Not price clipped (8/6), no inscriptions, internally clean tight and square, overall a vg copy for its age. 238pp. A story of American servicemen in Britain during WWII. Australian journalist and novelist Percival Charles Rodda (1891-1976), spent time in New York as a music critic. In 1926 he came to London and became a novelist, sometimes using the pseudonym Gavin Holt. This is his third novel, quite a scarce book.
