Title is also embossed on spine though some of the embossing has been rubbed off.Prior owner's name and address stamped on half title. Numerous black and white, half-tone photo illustrations and 12 black and white fold-out prints of blueprints for the bridge. Frontispiece is a fold-out color plate of the bridge.Construction on the bridge began January, 1933, and the bridge opened to traffic in May, 1937. This publication includes a reproduction of a letter dated September 20, 1937 , describing this as "the full report of the Chief Engineer on the building of the Golden Gate Bridge, covering the history of the project from its inception to its completion and including a description of the technical and other phases of the work.".
