Poor copy in the original blind-tooled cloth, with spine and edges somewhat dust-toned and rubbed. The binding is weakening; front flyleaf missing, rear hinge cracked, and both boards attached by the mull only. The preliminary and final leaves are heavily foxed, the former with a damp-stain to the outer edge. The interior leaves and plates, however, are generally clean and well-preserved, with only minor marginal tears. A serviceable reading copy. Physical description; 512 pages : illustrations ; 26 cm.
