London: Andre Deutsch, 1959. First UK Edition. 157 pp. Hard Cover: NEAR FINE. Dust Wrapper: NEAR FINE. Minor toning & fading to blue boards, otherwise outstanding. Dust Wrapper has slight discoloration and minor bumping around spine. Lovely copy of Roth's first book - in the much more attractive UK dust wrapper. Goodbye Columbus won the 1960 US National Book Award for Fiction. The book is a collection of short stories, a novella and five short stories, two of which, "The Defender of the Faith" and "The Conversion of The Jews," are now widely anthologized and placed among Roth's best short fiction.
