Books in the store are from donations to the Waynesboro-Wayne County Library, a Library of Congress, Mississippi Library Association award-winning library as well as a Mississippi Star Library. The library is the only public library in Wayne County, Mississippi, with a population of 20,373. The Library Director is Patsy C. Brewer, who has 33 1/2 years of professional experience. The Friends bookstore is the only bookstore in a public library in Mississippi.
