Ex-library copy, with cancelled stamps of "Bengal Secretary Library" on title a few interior leaves, and small Durham University stamps on title and last leaf. Library stickers on first and last flyleaves. Title page and page 131/132 repaired and with paper flaws, some smaller tears without loss in the text block, a few pencil notes and underlinings; overall apart from the title page in very good condition.

Very rare. The first grammar of the Lepcha language and "the first original printed book in the Lepcha language" (D.C. Roy). It was printed at the Mission Press in Serampur with the Lepcha characters which had served for the Bible translations by Start and Niebel since 1849. I was not able to trace any other copy on the market.
