This VG-, format #1 book is likely a first edition--it lists books in Patchin's "Pony Rider" series up to 1910 titles but not the 1912 titles. This book has a slight lean, has moderate staining on front cover and spine, very mild staining on rear board; head and heel of spine lightly bumped; no corner bumps or edge dings; front hinge just slightly loose but holding quite well; fore edge has dots of stains (see photo). Except for penciled inscription on FFEP, book is free of writing, stray marks and page damage. It does have several pages with stains in the margins and the fore edge stains, though they barely penetrate, are a bit of a distraction. The G quality jacket has large chips at the head and heel of the spine plus lesser ones at the corners and in the middle of the spine (see photo); it is also heavily toned.
