Antiquarian tall quarto hardcover, just under 12 inches tall. Fair to poor exterior, printed in 1923, and obviously well loved and read. Illustrated paper covered boards with cardboard revealed on all sides and a triangular one and a half inch piece missing from the upper right corner. The spine cover is also missing from the gray linen spine. Three penciled names on the front cover. The interior, however is clean and bright. A few interior pages have short closed tears. Verses and Pictures for Your Children by John Rae. Gordon Volland Edition. The magnificent and elaborate illustrations, also done by the author John Rae, remain brilliantly colored, with detailed borders and decorations on the text pages. No page numbers, but there is a full page illustration facing each page of text. Twenty full page color illustrations.
