16 pages stapled into card wrappers, the insides of which form the first and last pages of the book. Miniature format (11cm x 8.5cm). One of about a dozen or so of these Odhams Magic Roundabout Mini-Books, all seemingly about Dougal. This particular title seems to be one of the hardest to find. There is little or nothing by way of credits in this book, other than copyright to Serge Danot, the original French creator of the Magic Roundabout animation. These stories are often described as "based on the BBC television series by Serge Danot", but when the BBC bought the French series, they found they'd bought the visuals but not the scripts, so new stories were written to accompany the pictures. These stories were written and narrated by Eric Thompson whose other, and no less important, contribution the Arts was to father the wonderful actress, Emma Thompson. This cute little book is in very good condition - just slightly rubbed and with minimal wear at extremities. Reduced shipping will apply.
