Dust stains to endpapers. Foxing to the frontispiece map. Provenance: Hardwicke Knight (but without any of his owner's marks). ; vi, [2], 350 pages + folding frontispiece map + 1 loose plan of Bath. Lacking the folding map at rear. Rebound in late 19th? century half-leather and marbled papered boards. Page edges speckled red. Page dimensions: 180 x 118mm. "Living at a place you unconsciously grow curious about things which in any region but your own you would be indifferent to. To gratify this curiosity in such a manner as not merely to set it at rest, but to make it an adit for larger knowledge, should be the aim of the local historian." - from the Preface.
