Item description from seller

A thirty-third impression of the true first edition, with just the number '33' at the bottom of the printer's page. Only "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" and "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" listed as 'also available', indicating a 1999 printing date. Because of the rising popularity of the Harry Potter books by this time, the second book in the series was even more rapidly reprinted than the first - hence the relatively high impression number. ***This copy is most unusual as it has all the attributes of an unread copy - no discernible faults at all. The book is virtually fine, inside and out - the paper stock just lightly tanned as usual. The book still feels springy so we haven't taken any flat photographs. ***In a virtually fine colour illustrated dustwrapper, which retains the original publisher's printed price of £10.99 on the front flap. The dustwrapper is complete, and also displays no discernible faults. Unusually, the colours to the spine of the dustwrapper are completely unfaded (please see scans). ***251 pages plus four advertisement pages at the back of the book. 206mm x 136mm. ***'The Worst Birthday --- Not for the first time, an argument had broken out over breakfast at number four, Privet Drive. Mr Vernon Dursley had been woken in the early hours of the morning by a loud, hooting noise from his nephew Harry's room.' (Quote taken from the first paragraph of the book) ***A very impressive example of a thirty-third impression of the true first edition of "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets", the second book in the series. As mentioned above, this copy is in superb condition for the collector. Being such a popular children's book, copies of the early printings from the 1990s in reasonable condition are far from easy to find now. A wonderful copy. ***For all our books, postage is charged at cost, allowing for packaging: any shipping rates indicated on ABE are an average only: we will reduce the P & P charge where appropriate - please contact us for postal rates for heavier books and sets etc.…
