Item description from seller

Each issue one sheet, folded once vertically, for 4 pages, 5 columns per page. Issues present: 29, 32, 34, 38, 48-49, 51-52; 5-6, 12-13, 16-18. Some adverts with cuts. 21-3/4" x 14-1/4" Research suggests that the Patriot, in 1838, succeeded the Hingham Gazette, and remained in publication for the following decade. NB. We confess to some surprise in that we found no meniton of Charles Dickens 1842 visit to America, the Inimitable arriving in Boston [~ 20 miles from Hingham] January 22nd, especially given the continuous fanfare attendant to his first visit. That said, the type utilized by the publisher quite minute, and we possibly missed a mention thereof when we scanned a few issues The hand-made paper still pliable, and considering the age, is holding up well. Still, the expected age-toning, edge-rash, fold-lines, bit of foxing present. Occasional creases & tears. An About VG lot.
