This may prove to be the most procative indictment against American avaition historians and the Smithsonian's National Air Museum for clamping the lid shut on the true facts concerning achievement of man's first powered flight by Gustave Whitehead. With meticulous care the authors take the reader behind the scenes at the Smithsonian and with irrefutable documented facts, details the longest cover-up in aviation history. Included are photographs, an appendix, and a general index for documents. This copy is clean, solid, and has shelfwear to the dust jacket. This is #1042 of a limited edition. This is an important reference work for the aviation history library.
