Needs to be rebound - sold as is. Presumed first edition. i-viii, 1-267 pages. Hardcover: H 22.75cm x L 14.5cm. Missing front board and preliminary blank leaves - first leaf present is title (i.e. pages i-ii). Contemporary leather spine with surface chips and wear and small loss (affecting some gilt lettering) to its original black title label; leather rear boards scuffed with shallow losses at top edge; splitting to rear joint leaving board a bit pliable. Bottom half of last text page (i.e. page 267 of Index) missing; also lacking rear free endpaper and perhaps a flyleaf. Some foxing/toning to leaves with a few stains and creased corners. Text block is firm.
