Minor rubbing to upper tip, else a FINE copy, with FINE, laid in cards. ****This trade catalog of memorial tablets, was published in 1919, with the vast majority of designs concerned with the Great War, and honoring those who fought, and those who fell in it. It also contains several examples of tablets and memorials for the academic campus. Patriotic remembrances include relief portraits of Wilson, Gen. Pershing, Marshall Foch, and the late Col. Roosevelt. Included in the text is a list of 275 bronze contracts, recently executed by JPB&I Co., giving the Buyer/building and the architect or designer. 33 states are represented, along with 7 foreign countries. Examples of just NYC include: St. John's cathedral, Ford Motor Co., Cadillac Motor Co., residence of John D. Rockefeller, American Express Building, The Stock Exchange, and many others. Polachek's company would go on to design and cast other great architectural and decorative bronze works, including: The doors at the Supreme Court, the Atlas and Prometheus statues in Radio City, the Nebraska State Capital in Lincoln, Commerce and Dept. of Justice buildings in washington, and many others. **** OCLC locates just one copy, at the New York Public Library.
