Hardcover, no dustjacket, 237 pages + 2 pages of ads, "With a Glossary and numerous illustrations (partly in colors). A bookplate of "The Library of Friend's Asylum, Frankford, Phila." is present on the inside of the front cover, the only other library marking is a small label at bottom of spine, the cloth cover has moderate edge-wear at the spine-ends and corners, the cover is clean and the contents are fine, "This little volume has been written from the standpoint of a general practitioner of more than forty years' active experience who thinks he is well acquainted with the needs of his professional brethren".
