THIS WAS KOONTZ'S FIRST HARDCOVER FICTION BOOK WRITTEN UNDER HIS OWN NAME. Book has no creased page corners, no foxing to pages or endpapers, yellow top stain is nice without fading or drop spots, slight age darkening/foxing/dust soiling to outer page edges, no hinge splits, clean endpapers with no scotch tape residue marks, no former owner's markings or used bookstore stamps inside, no wear to board edges or corners, or to spine tips, no bumped board corners. Dust jacket has no chipping, tearing or creasing, virtually no wear to spine tips, no wear to front flap crease, age yellowing (primarily at flap creases and spine - very common defect with this all-white dust jacket), no dust soiling, no color rubbing (common defect with this DJ as there was no glossy covering applied at time of manufacture), otherwise no soiling or staining, tiny nick along top left edge on front panel otherwise no edge wear. Overall a FINE-/N-FINE book in VG+/FINE- condition dust jacket (not price clipped) of a rare Dean Koontz first printing hardcover book.
