First edition, first printing hardcover in illustrated glossy boards. 202 pp profusely illustrated in b/w with a few color plates and one fold out working draft of a sulky from 1885. The book begins with a chronology of two-wheeled vehicles followed by a brief summary of racing. Next is a section for four wheeled racing sulkies ending with a section devoted to "Road Riders" and "Speeding Wagons". Immensely researched, copiously illustrated and a delight to read.
