Scarce First Edition, SECOND Printing of the UK Bloomsbury hardcover edition of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Near-fine condition in a Very Good jacket. Number line: 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2. According to Philip Errington (J.K. Rowling: A Bibliography [2017], p. 68), this edition was published on 29 June 1998 in a print run of ONLY 200 COPIES, making it by far the rarest printing of this title. The boards have minor bumping to the back cover corners and the lower spine end. The upper spine end and front cover corners remain sharp. The binding is tight, and the endpapers and pages are clean, without names or inscriptions. The interior is in fine condition, with bright pages that lack the usual browning on the edges. The Very Good original, unclipped first-state dust jacket shows some shelf and edge wear but retains bright, unfaded colors. A very handsome example of this title, preserved in collectible condition.
