Title page + printer page + dedication page + blank + 2 page to reader + 15 page list of subscribers + blank + 119 pages. Condition; quarter leather hardback binding Good, embossed blind decoration & gilt title to spine good, some rubbing & dirt. Contents mostly very good, clean & tight, blank endpages front/rear, only inside front is a 1830 ink gift inscription (hard to decipherer both the names). The odd minor pencil inscription, the odd mark, last about 18 pages water/tea stain to base of pages, page 103/4 has been torn in half with 2 old paper repair to corners holding it in place. A couple of corner tip folds. John Webb (1768 - 1840) was born just outside Haverhill at Burton End, and became a weaver by trade, and also a frequent contributor to The Lady's Magazine with his poems etc. between 1800 to 1818. Webb wrote this long narrative poem Haverhill about his hometown that did not appear in the Lady s Magazine but as this privately printed book with other poems. Haverhill includes his own personal views and recollections of the Suffolk town of Haverhill. Size: 16 x 10cm Approx. Seller Inventory # 003432
