Hawkeye: My Life As A Weapon (Marvel Premier Collection)

Eisner Award-Winner: Matt Fraction & David Aja, Best Single Issue
Eisner Award-Winner: David Aja, Best Penciller
Eisner Award-Winner: David Aja, Best Cover Artist

The Eisner Award-winning modern classic, presented in a newly designed book format edition with a brand-new introduction by author Matt Fraction.

Matt Fraction (Batman, Invincible Iron Man) and David Aja (The Immortal Iron Fist, The Seeds) deliver a stylish, cinematic, and profoundly human take on Marvel’s most unlikely Avenger — one that inspired countless creators, won armfuls of awards, and laid the groundwork for the hit Disney+ series.

Clint Barton, ordinary guy in a world of gods and super-soldiers, just wants to do right — and maybe grill a decent rooftop BBQ. Alongside Kate Bishop, his equally sharp-eyed protégé, he takes aim at digital digital doomsday, Russian mobsters in tracksuits, and the everyday chaos of life in New York. With Aja’s minimalist brilliance and Fraction’s razor-sharp voice, these stories turned the small details — neighbors, stray dogs, broken tape decks — into unforgettable legend.

And then there’s Pizza Dog. Yes, he gets his own Eisner-winning story.

Having established his reputation as an emerging talent with his work on Last of the Independents, Matt Fraction launched the critically acclaimed Immortal Iron Fist with co-writer Ed Brubaker and artist David Aja. He subsequently collaborated with artist Salvador Larrocca on Invincible Iron Man, premiering the same month as the blockbuster film. Also a talented filmmaker and graphic designer, Fraction became one of Marvel’s most popular writers. His credits include Uncanny X-Men, Thor and its successor The Mighty Thor, the blockbuster Fear Itself, and the relaunched Defenders. Fraction teamed with David Aja for the Eisner Award-winning Hawkeye. Beyond Marvel, his acclaimed creator-owned work includes Sex Criminals, Casanova, ODY-C and November.

Spanish artist David Aja earned his fine-arts degree at the University of Salamanca in 2000, becoming a professional illustrator for newspaper, magazine, publicity and multimedia clients worldwide. His comic-book credits include Marvel’s X-Men Unlimited, Civil War: Choosing Sides, Daredevil, Giant-Size Wolverine, Wolverine: Debt of Death, and a long run with writers Ed Brubaker and Matt Fraction on Immortal Iron Fist.
