About this Item
A Near Fine copy with discreet remainder mark to top edge in a Fine unclipped dust jacket. Author Terry Mort has written a detailed portrait of an adventurous and little notated period in Hemingway's life--that dealing with his exploits during World War II hunting for German submarines off the coast of Cuba. Mort describes the wartime events in the region, Hemingway's efforts to be involved in the war and at the same time his testy relationship with his third wife Martha Gellhorn. An interesting period in Hemingway's adventurous life that fleshes out an otherwise briefly noted period in the previously published full-length biographies. Seller Inventory # 28801
