Dixon, Hanson & Company, New York, 1906. Blue Cloth with leather spines. Marbled endpapers and outer page edges. Gilt lettering on the spine. Thousands of illustrations, including many plates in color. Solid square bindings. One volume has drizzled blue paint on the cover and Volume II has a detached front cover held in place by black tape. Volume IV has a large scuff to front cover that has removed the top surface. "This Library of Reference has been published to supply the demands of a progressive and busy age. The rapid advancement made in recent years in every department of knowledge is not shown in books published ten or even five years ago.
