About the Author:
Bangalore Venkata Raman was an astrological pioneer and author. He had a role to play in popularizing Hindu astrology globally. Bangalore Venkata Raman has authored numerous books such as Three Hundred Important Combinations, Astrology for Beginners, A Manual Of Hindu Astrology, Graha and Bhava Balas, Hindu Astrology And The West, How To Judge A Horoscope, Planetary Influences on Human Affairs, Ashtakavarga System of Prediction, My Experiences in Astrology, Bhavartha Ratnakara, Muhurtha (Electional Astrology), Studies In Jaimini Astrology, A Catechism Of Astrology, Prasna Marga and Notable Horoscopes.
Bangalore Venkata Raman also set up the Raman & Rajeswari Research Foundation for the promotion of vastu shastra and astrology. He was awarded the Doctor of Literature and Doctor of Letters degrees from the Akhila Bharateeya Samskrita Sammelana and Kumaon University respectively. He restarted and edited The Astrological Magazine for over sixty years. He also attended the Astrological Congress and the International Astrology Conference. He has lectured extensively all across Germany, Holland, Japan, England, Italy, Austria, France, the United States of America and Canada. He delivered a lecture at the United Nations in 1970 where he called astrology a science. The Indian Council of Astrological Sciences was also founded by him in 1984 and the American Council of Vedic Astrology was also set up under his guidance. He passed away in 1998 at the age of 86.
