The preface reads, 'The following hints are offered to the notice of the amateur from a conviction that it is not so much how to draw as how to see that is required in Sketching from Nature. the work accordingly consists rather of observations on the various appearances of trees, and the means of interpreting them, than of instructions in details of manipulation, which are to be found in abundance in other works.' 12 full page illustrations. Stiff card binding with mottled dark brown cloth. Small size book. Condition is good with a little wear at the corners of the cover. Contents are good with a few water stains and some pencil notation throughout.
