This copy has a neat gift inscription to the f.e.p. but is otherwise FINE. The unclipped dustwrapper has some minor edge wear but is still Very Good. From the air England still appears to be well wooded. Mostly, though, the trees occur in relatively small blocks, many of them the vestige of forests that formerly were much more extensive and which, in primeval times, extended across the country in a limitless canopy of trees. This book traces the history of the indigenous forsets from earliest times and demonstrates the significant part they have played in English life. Ref R5.
