Folding frontis with tissue guard, (6), 197, (1) pages. 2 additional full page illustrations with water stains. Curiously, none of the other leaves have water stains. Attached book before the front blank is a slip of paper, a notice by the publisher that additional, proof impressions of the plates are available from the publisher. A scan pf this notice is available upon request. Front board is original. Back board and spine are recent. The author was the vicar of Scopwick (Lincolnshire), domestic chaplain to the Right Honourable Lord Kensington and Honorary member of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland.
