crown, hb blue cloth spine with paper sides (small nick central spine), vii+71 pp + plates & map in neat end pocket. A rare book with detailed contemporary documentation.The red fort on the river Jumna was built by Emperor Akbar in abour 8 years in the sixteenth century. It has 4 gates, and is of sandstone. It figured in the 1857 mutiny. Detailed inscriptions are given and translations made. Buildings described, all inscriptions, plates and index. An authoritative history of the famous fort with map/plan in pocket at the end. Size: Crown.
