Ink inscription on the half title from Major Wm MacDonald late of the regiment to his son dated 1884. Evidence of water to the bottom edge. Gilt on spine faded as well as the red cloth. Frontispiece detached but laid in. Original decorated red boards including black ribbon (with tear) fastened diagonally along spine. Boards show rippling on both front and back panels. Front hinge starting. Wear to corners and extremities. Pages yellowed at extremities; some pages have minimal foxing, else a very nice copy. Presentation Copy. Seller Inventory # 007119
