First edition of A History of Booksellers The Old and The New by Henry Curwen.In the original publisher's cloth binding with decorative gilt to the front board and spine.Henry Curwen was an English journalist and author, and during the height of his career was the editor of The Times of India.Illustrated with a frontispiece and nineteen monochrome plates including portraits. Collated, complete. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. There is some slight loss to the head and tail of the spine. The hinges are strained but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Some of the pages are uncut.
