tall 4to, ca. 8.75" x 11.5" Bound in original gray cloth covered boards , both books externally fine, but the binding is upside down on part 1 and normal on part 2. ( NOTE: part 1 of this pair also has a black ink library stamp on the top edge in small letters, but NO other such marks noted inside and the condition of the book indicates little usage- thus it is x-library, but still fine otherwise) Contents are pp. xlii, 1171 for part I and xxix, 1172- 2180 for part 2 fine copies (except for binding error on part 1). Full of information and color and b&w illustration of lots of maps and materials for this important period in map making. The dust jackets are present and in fine condition. Dustjackets have mylar protectors. No owner names of bookplates noted inside. Note: due to size a weight, shipping outside the USA or priority mail will cost quite a bit more than 2 average books.
