First edition in English (hardback). 4to (28cm by 25cm), 543pp. 654 illustrations, including 129 colour plates and 51 specially-commissioned plans of parks and gardens. Original green cloth, dustwrapper. The book is in near-VG condition (there is some minor spotting to the top edge of the text block); the dustwrapper is in near-VG condition (some minor chafing of the edges). The dustwrapper has now been put in a mylar cover to protect it. ISBN 0500015112.
