All three Volumes are First American Editions with full number lines. The books are all in Near Fine condition and have Near Fine dust jackets, with the exception of Volume One - which is in Very Good+ condition (strictly because there is a former owner's inked notation on the front endpaper - otherwise the book is in Near Fine condition) . The books are in clean, bright condition. The text pages are clean and bright. The dust jackets are crisp and clean. These three books were printed between 1988 and 1990. The books are VI, VII, and VIII of the History of Middle-Earth series which was edited by Christopher Tolkien. "The History of Middle-earth is a 12-volume series of books published between 1983 and 1996 by George Allen & Unwin in the UK and by Houghton Mifflin in the US. They collect and analyse much of J. R. R. Tolkien's legendarium, compiled and edited by his son Christopher Tolkien.
