A good hardback first edition, bound in full maroon calf. Gilt title lettering and decoration to spine, and five raised bands. Gilt shields on upper and lower covers. There is some light shelf wear to the binding: there is some minor rubbing to the covers, and a small injury (a graze) on the left-hand side of the shield on the upper cover. The spine is sunned and a little rubbed. There is some minor rubbing and splitting to the joints at the top of the upper and lower covers, but the binding remains perfectly sound and secure. The hinges (internal) are firm and free from cracks. The contents are clean, bright and fresh. Overall, a nice hardback first edition in an attractive full leather binding, but with some light shelf wear and a bit of fading to the spine. This item will be properly packed.
