See photos for condition details. Hardcover, briefly inscribed and signed by one of the signs of the author to a Mr. Chas. Jones, Esq. The red cloth boards shows some scuffing and scratches along with edge and corner bumps/light wear. Internal binding is good, no hinge issues. The text pages are overall clean but there is some scattered smudge marks along with foxing to both end pages and pastedowns. Besides the inscription there is also an update to the table of contents (age xv) in which the author son also added "Appendix D. ? Correspondences between Dr. Coke and the Baltimore Conference". No other markings found in the book. The author, James Edward Armstrong, had three sons: Joseph Lamb Armstrong, Edward Cooke Armstrong, and Charles Martin Armstrong, Esquire. The signature on the inscription is likely C. M. Armstrong, only because it doesn't match the other two sons at all.
