Vol. 1 of 4. incl. fold-out colour map. Brown half leather binding with red marbled boards and cream endpapers. Significant wear to spine and corners. Both hinges and joints have gone, boards attached only by binding strings: front board delicate, rear boad much more firmly held. Textblock crisp, clean and tight with minimal foxing. FFEP separated but present, 1st blank loose but holding, rear FEP loose but holding. Frontispiece of George Buchanan with tissue guard. Map has a 2" tear at the bottom. Overall Good. Photos available on request. Incl. a section on the life of Buchanan.
