The blue cover has the title and other decorations in gilt with the title on the spine in gilt also. The corners, edges and spine are bumped; there is shelf wear and chipping to the bottom and top of spine. The endpapers are brown with flower decoration a book stores very small tag "R.L. Bryant(nt missing) Booksellers & Stationer, Columbia, S.C. on the back end paper there is a triangle paper which says "Bound by Leighton Son and Hodge (they are from London), small chip to ffep. The first 6+ pages have foxing on them. The frontispiece has separated from book; there is a water stain, but still has the tissue is still attached. The interior although aged is very clean; there are at least two pages with water damage. There are many wonderful pictures throughout the book of different ships.
