The first edition of this scarce work.Illustrated with a folding plate, and six plates.Handwritten letter bound in before the title page from Frederick George Lee, a priest who was born in Thame. The letter details Ascott Chapel, and includes a sketch.A topographical study on Thame and its hamlets in Oxfordshire. This was the native town of the author, a touching history of the market town written by someone with a deep connection to it.By Mr. Harry Lupton.Bookplate of Oliver Brett, Viscount Esher, to the front paste down. Brett was a peer and politician, private secretary to Lord Morley, and a chairman of the National Trust.Undated, dated from Jisc from a copy held at the British Library.List of subscribers to the rear. In a half calf binding with cloth to the boards. Externally, smart. Spine and joints are lightly faded. A few minor marks to the boards and spine. Light rubbing to the joints.
