256 pages. Hardcover bound in quarter brown cloth with green printed paper-covered boards. The binding is worn and rubbed, and some splits to the cloth along the spine edges have been neatly repaired. There is a damp spot on the front cover at the fore edge. The text is a little toned but has no foxing. Illustrated with seven (of 8?) portraits and a folding map (7 1/2 inches tall by 12 inches wide) of the Yellow Tobacco Belt of North Carolina. The List of Portraits has two portraits at page 139. We see only one, although it does not look like anything has been removed. Also contains numerous advertising pages at the front and the rear.
